Design Notes

The Reception Room in this stunning Victorian Terrace in the heart of Wimbledon, was a key element of a major renovation project for which O&Co was commissioned to design from the outset and oversaw from concept to completion.

Following a complete strip-out, we sensitively reinstated period details, including bespoke cornice plasterwork, historically accurate Victorian skirtings, dado rails and wall mouldings. After a painstaking search, a restored Victorian cast iron fireplace was sourced and installed, fulfilling the clients' wish for a working open fire and creating a stunning focal point.

The room's design balances these period features with contemporary elements: handblown glass chandeliers & wall lights, statement walnut furniture, tactile soft furnishings and indulgent custom rugs.

A sophisticated and calm space, designed for relaxation and enjoyment, free from the distractions of modern technology.
