Design Notes

Once an Inn, this Cotswolds House bursts with character and history. Our client chose one of the front rooms of the house to be turned into a library for his fascinating extensive collection of books.

The space very clearly dictated where it wanted to go and not competing with the natural rustic charm of the flagstones and exposed beams was key.

With Chipping Campden once the centre for the Arts & Crafts movement, we drew inspiration from the simplicity of style, use of local sourced materials and an appreciation for true craftmanship.

The library was designed & crafted by O & Co, in solid & veneered Oak with dimmable hidden lighting. A cockbead detail lifts the front edges of the shelves and we added solid Walnut pegging along the front facia uprights as a subtle contrast.
